3 killed in Jhenaidah road crash

Three persons were killed in a road accident involving a motorcycle and a tractor today in Jagusha village under Maheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah.

The victims, all riders of the motorbike, are identified: Sabbir Hossain, 18, of Nalikunda village under Kotchandpur upazila of the district; Razu Ahmed, 20, and Nazrul Hossain, 45, of Jibannagar upazila in Chuadanga.

Morshed Hossain Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Maheshpur Police Station, said the victims were on their way to attend a marriage ceremony through riding a motorbike.

“As they reached at Jagusha village, a tractor coming from opposite direction hit their motorcycle, leaving them critically injured,” he said.

Locals rescued them and took them to a local health complex where doctors declared them dead, the OC also said.

The bodies of the victims will be sent to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
