Another ‘Ansarullah militant’ held in India

A Bangladeshi, suspected member of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), has been detained in a joint operation in New Delhi of India.

The man, identified as Raja-ul-Ahmed was detained by Delhi Police and West Bengal Police on August 1, and was wanted for his alleged involvement in the circulation of fake Indian currency, our New Delhi correspondent reports.

"We got information from the West Bengal Police who had been tracking the accused. They told us his location and he was nabbed by our team. He was subsequently shown arrested on August 1," said Pramod Singh Kushwah, deputy commissioner of police, Special Cell of Delhi Police.

Ahmed will be handed over to West Bengal Police once their team arrives in Delhi.

Delhi Police, however, did not share details of the case with the media.

Earlier another Bangladeshi "ABT man", Abdullah Al Mamon, was detained in Muzaffarnagar district of India's Uttar Pradesh on August 6.

A team of Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) of India arrested Mamon, 26, at Kutesara in Charthawal area following a tip-off.
