Feni civil surgeon dies after contracting Covid-19
The civil surgeon of Feni, who tested Covid-19 positive in mid-June, died at a city hospital this afternoon.
Dr Sazzad Hossain was being treated at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital. He breathed his last around 5:45pm at the hospital's intensive care unit, said Dr Mily Dey, director of Bangladesh Doctors' Foundation (BDF) Trust.
The civil surgeon tested Covid-19 positive days after his sample was sent to Noakhali's Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College lab for test on June 12.
With Dr Sazzad, at least 63 physicians died with Covid-19 infection while 11 others passed showing Covid-19 like symptoms, according to BDF.
