Despite surge in Covid-19, 13 Bangladeshis return from India
At least 13 more Bangladeshis, who were stuck in India, returned home through the Gede-Darshana border in Chuadanga today despite a rapid surge in Covid-19 cases across the country.
With this, a total of 1,013 people returned to the country in the last 38 days, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting Sub-Inspector Abdul Alim, in-charge of Darshana-Joynagar Immigration Check-post.
Officials of the health department conducted their rapid antigen tests, he said. No one tested positive for Covid-19, he added.
Monir Parveen, convener of the Covid-19 Control and Prevention Sub-Committee, said the returnees were sent to Chuadanga Primary Teachers' Training Institute for 14 days mandatory institutional quarantine.
