Chief Justice suspends decision to run court functions to a short extent
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain today suspended till April 27 his earlier decision to run court functions to a short extent.
Supreme Court Registrar General Md Ali Akbar issued two separate circulars to this effect today saying that the chief justice suspended the decision due to unavoidable reasons.
The chief justice, however, will convene a full court meeting with all the judges of both the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court tomorrow (Sunday).
The full court meeting will be held at 11:30am tomorrow through video conference, according to another circular issued by the SC registrar general today.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain on April 23 decided to operate functions of the courts including the Appellate and High Court Divisions to a limited scale following demands from some lawyers including the Supreme Court Bar Association in order to hear and dispose of very urgent cases.
