40 judges, 181 court staff infected by Covid-19 so far
A total of 40 lower court judges and 181 court staff have been infected with Covid-19 till today.
Among the infected staff members of courts, 45 are from Supreme Court while 136 are from subordinate courts across the country, SC Spokesman Md Saifur Rahman told our correspondent in a cellphone message.
He said among the infected lower court judges one has died, one is receiving treatment at a hospital and 17 have recovered so far.
The rest 21 infected judges are receiving treatment at their homes, Saifur Rahman said.
Ferdous Ahmed, judge of Lalmonirhat District Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, died of Covid-19 at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka on June 24.
Besides, Md Kausar, a staff of Madaripur District Judge Court, died with Covid-19 symptoms on June 18 and Mohiuddin Mohan, an office assistant of Naogaon District Judge Court, died with Covid-19 symptoms on June 19, law ministry sources said.
