Rab detains two in Savar over alleged rape of minor
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-4) detained two people from Savar's Aminbazar area on Sunday night for allegedly raping a 14-year old girl.
The elite force officially confirmed the matter yesterday through a press release signed by Md Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury, Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-4.
The detainees were identified as Md Parvez (45) and Kumari Ranzita Rani (19).
According to the press release, the victim was "manipulated" and taken to Parvez's house by her neighbour Ranzita on Saturday night.
Later, Parvez raped the victim multiple times with the help of Ranzita.
After the victim's family field a written complaint, Rab started investigation into the incident and detained the two.
Both arrestees were handed over to Savar Model Police Station yesterday.
Saiful Islam, inspector (investigation) of Savar Model Police Station, told The Daily Star the accused were produced before a Dhaka court, seeking seven days remand prayer.
The court granted one-day remand for each, he added.
