JU asks students to leave halls by 10am today

The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) today asked the students, who are staying at the dormitories defying directives, to leave the halls by 10:00 am today.

In a notice, authorities said Jahangirnagar University has been closed from March 19, 2020 like other universities in the country due to government directives to protect students from the Covid-19 pandemic.

On the evening of February 20, some students forcibly entered into different dormitories and are still staying there violating directives of the government, the notice signed by its acting registrar read.

"The university administration is instructing them to leave the halls by 10:00 am on February 22 on their own initiative," it said.

Otherwise, the university administration will be compelled to take legal action against them, the university authorities warned.
