Home Economics College students protest demanding continuation of exams

Students of Home Economics College are staging demo in front of their college demanding continuation of ongoing exams.

The protest started around 7:00am at Nilkhet intersection. The students later moved in front of their college and were continuing the protest until this report was filed at 2:45pm, reports our Dhaka University correspondent.

In the meantime, protesting students have alleged that police have attacked them.

"Male police officials charged batons on us around 11:30am, woman officials tried to drag us inside the campus," said Ayesha Siddika, one of the protesters.

"We will not move from front of our college until our demands are met," she said.

When asked about the allegations of attack on the protesters, Sanowar Hosen, assistant police commissioner of Lalbagh Zone said that they tried to disperse the protesters with permission of the college authority.

"However, batons were not charged on them," he said.
