Fire at Dhaka's Karwan Bazar market under control
A fire that broke out at Karwan Bazar's Hasina market tonight has been brought under control.
The blaze was brought under control around 10:15pm, Devashish Bhardhan, deputy director of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters in Dhaka, confirmed to The Daily Star.
A total of eight firefighting units are still trying to douse the fire, he added.
The fire originated at 9:08pm from a hotel, situated in the first floor of the tin-roofed market and soon engulfed the surrounding shops, the fire official added.
Casualty and damage caused by the fire could not be known immediately.
