Buses torched in Dhaka: 22 accused placed on remand
At least 22 accused who were arrested in connection with incidents of torching nine buses at different places in Dhaka yesterday, have been placed on different remand periods today.
Two separate Dhaka Metropolitan magistrates passed the orders after police produced them before their courts this afternoon in connection with nine cases filed over the incidents.
The nine cases were filed with different police stations in the capital between last night and this morning.
Of them, two cases were filed with Motijheel Police Station over two arson incidents in Motijheel area, said Walid Hossain, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP.
Two more cases were filed with Shahbagh Police Station in connection with torching two buses in the area, while another two cases were filed with Paltan Police Station against 68 people and some unnamed persons over torching buses in that area, he added.

Three other cases were filed with Kalabagan, Bangshal and Bhatara police stations respectively in connection with three separate incidents of torching buses, police said.
At least nine buses were torched in different parts of Dhaka in the span of a few hours yesterday which police suspect was part of a plot to carry out subversive activities.
No casualty was reported in any of the incidents.
