68 gold bars worth Tk 4.73cr seized at Dhaka airport

A team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) seized 68 gold bars, weighing around 7.89kg, from an aircraft at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today.

The bars were hidden below a tissue box inside the toilet of a Biman Bangladesh flight that landed at the airport around 8:45am from Dubai, Muhammad Mubinul Kabir, director general of CIID, told BSS.

The market price of the seized gold is over Tk 4.73 crore.
