2 warehouse owners remanded
A Dhaka court yesterday placed two owners of an unauthorised chemical warehouse on a three-day remand each in a case filed over the devastating fire that killed six people in old Dhaka's Armanitola on April 23.
The accused are: Mostafizur Rahman and Mohammad Mostafa. Mostafizur was arrested from Nandigram of Bogura, while Mostafa from the capital's Uttara.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufiyan Md Noman passed the order after Inspector Mir Rezaul Islam, the case's investigation officer, produced them before his court with a 10-day remand prayer.
Both are the FIR-named accused in a case filed by Bangshal Police Station against eight named and 15 to 20 unnamed people.
The duo admitted storing chemicals and highly flammable goods at their warehouse in Haji Musa Mansion, the six-storey building which caught fire.
