2 killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka
Two persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Dhaka yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Sumona Begum (60) from Kishoreganj and Sanyasi Debnath (60) from Rajbari, reports our staff correspondent quoting Assistant Sub-Inspector Abdullah Khan, assistant in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost.
Sumona sustained critical injuries after a pick-up van hit her while she was crossing Beribad road at Mohammadpur area. She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead at 10:30pm, said Ahaduzzaman Suman, nephew of the deceased.
Suman said her aunt used to live at Dhaka Udyan with her son.
Sanyasi sustained injuries after an unidentified vehicle hit him from behind while he was crossing the road in front of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital this evening, said his nephew Sujan Debnath.
Sanyasi was taken to the Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, from where he was later shifted to DMCH after his condition deteriorated, added Sujan.
Duty doctors declared him dead around 10:00pm, said ASI Abdullah.
He added that the two bodies were kept at DMCH morgue for autopsy.
