Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh and High Commissioner of Maldives to Bangladesh visit UAP on Invitation from OIA

On September 14, 2021, two teams from of the Embassy of Nepal and the High Commission of Maldives to Bangladesh headed by His Excellency Dr Banshidhar Mishra, Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh and Her Excellency Shiruzimath Sameer, the High Commissioner of Republic of Maldives to Bangladesh visited University of Asia Pacific (UAP) on invitation from the Office of International Affairs (OIA), UAP.
At the outset of their visit, a meeting was arranged to discuss the mutual interests, especially with regard to the possibilities of exchange of students between UAP and the universities of Nepal and Maldives. The need for undertaking collaborative research projects, faculty exchange, joint academic programs and events was also discussed in the meeting.
Prof. Dr Md. Sultan Mahmud, Acting Vice-Chancellor, UAP delivered the welcome speech at the meeting wherein he expressed his gratitude to the delegates and stressed the consequent outstanding achievements of UAP. The meeting was also addressed by Mr K. M. Mojibul Hoque, Member, Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr Muhammad Mizanur Rahaman, Dean, School of Engineering, UAP. Prof. Dr Mohammad Shariful Islam, Member, Senior Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees, UAP delivered the closing remarks. During the meeting, a brief overview of UAP was presented by Ms Ismat Zarin, Director, Office of International Affairs (OIA), and Assistant Professor, Department of English, UAP.
In his speech, His Excellency Dr Banshidhar Mishra, Ambassador of Nepal to the People's Republic of Bangladesh said, "In future, we hope to do various collaborations with this university to achieve quality education as we are very similar countries with respect to our territory, culture, and history. So, we will work together to ensure quality education and exchange of technological achievements."
Her Excellency Shiruzimath Sameer, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Bangladesh said, "UAP is always very special to us. We are working with a few of the universities in Bangladesh and I hope UAP would be one of them. We will extend our support to work together in future to establish academic collaborations with this university."
The meeting was also graced with the presence of the honourable Deans and Heads of the departments. At the end of the program, two crests and some other souvenirs were presented to the Honorable Ambassador and delegates as a token of appreciation.
Later, the team of delegates visited at the departments and observed classrooms, laboratories, the central library, and the auditorium of UAP while honourable Deans and Chairpersons of all the Departments and respective representatives briefed the delegates about the resources, services and technology available at the university. The program was organized and collaborated by the Office of International Affairs (OIA), UAP.
