Stocks break two-day losing streak

Stocks recovered today following a two-day losing streak when the turnover also rose.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, gained 18.71 points, or 0.39 percent, to close at 4,795.04.
The Shariah-compliant DSES index increased 0.51 percent to 1,047.28, while the DS30, which represents blue-chip stocks, jumped 0.45 percent to 1,780.06.
Turnover, a key indicator of market activity, rose 3 percent to Tk 297.71 crore
Of the issues traded, 211 advanced, 104 declined, and 75 remained unchanged, indicating positive investor activity.
Fu-wang Foods posted the highest gain, rising 10 percent, while Pragati Insurance registered the biggest loss, dropping 7 percent.
