Remittance crosses record $20b in 10 months

Remittance increased 39 per cent year-on-year to $20 billion in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.

This has happened for the first time in the history of Bangladesh for the remittance to cross the $20 billion-mark in the first 10 months of any fiscal year. 

Even, the country did not register remittance inflow over $20 billion in a single fiscal year in the past, according to data by Bangladesh Bank.

The expatriate Bangladeshis sent home $2.06 billion in April, a year-on-year increase of 89 per cent.
