Ongoing gaining streak, a happy ending for stock investors before Eid
The six consecutive days of rise brought smiles to the faces of stock investors today just before the three-day closure of the stock market on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose 26 points, or 0.45 per cent, to stand at 5,750 today.
This year, the stock market has been a source of happy feelings for the investors, which will leave a positive impact on the market, market analysts said.
In the last six days, the index rose 239 points, or 4.33 per cent.
Turnover, an important indicator of the market, rose 3.56 per cent to Tk 1,453 crore.
Kattali Textile topped the gainers' list that rose 10 per cent, followed by ML Dyeing, Index Agro Industries, Crystal Insurance, and Western Marine Shipyard.
Beximco Ltd became the most traded stock with shares worth Tk 104 crore changing hands followed by National Feed Mills, LankaBangla Finance, Robi Axiata, and SAIF Powertec.
One Bank shed the most that eroded 5.4 per cent followed by Agrani Insurance, Prime Insurance, Asian Insurance and Rahima Food Corporation.
