Export-import to remain suspended through Benapole port till May 16
Export-import through Benapole land port will remain suspended from tomorrow due to Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of Muslims.
However, offices of the port, customs, and immigration will remain open, our local correspondent reports quoting Benapole C&F Agents' Association President Mafizur Rahman.
The export-import between Bangladesh and India will resume through the port on May 16, he said.
Benapole Immigration's Officer-in-Charge Ahsan Habib said that currently movement of the passengers who have passports is suspended through the port.
But if anyone returns with deputy high commissioner's NOC, he or she has to remain on a 14-day institutional quarantine at his or her own cost.
Benapole Customs Deputy Commissioner Mostafizur Rahman confirmed that Benapole customs officials will be on duty during the Eid holidays.
