Dhaka trade fair fetches Tk 300 crore in export orders

The 27th edition of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) came to an end today and it fetched export orders worth Tk 300 crore.

"About 30 to 35 lakh visitors came to the fair this year and around Tk 100 crore has been transacted in the month-long fair," Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said at the closing ceremony in Dhaka's Purbachal.

At the event, Jute and Textiles Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi was present as chief guest.

Among the participants of the fair, the first prize was given to 10 best pavilions and stalls in different categories, the second prize was given to 13 pavilions and stalls while the third prize was given to 11 pavilions and stalls.

A total of 315 stalls and 57 pavilions were set up at the event this year.

Of them, around 17 stalls were operated by foreign companies from 10 countries, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Turkey, Malaysia, India, Pakistan and South Korea.
