HSBC wins two Euromoney awards
The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) has won the Best Bank for Sustainable Finance and the Best Bank for Large Corporates in Bangladesh at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, in recognition of its performance in the country.
The awards reflect the bank’s unwavering commitment to customer-centricity, technological innovation, and operational excellence, according to a press release.
Md Mahbub ur Rahman, chief executive officer of HSBC Bangladesh, said, “We’re proud to be recognised once again for the strength of our large corporate banking business and our leadership in sustainable finance.”
“This reflects the depth of our capabilities, the commitment of our teams, and our focus on helping clients grow, transform, and create long-term value while building a more sustainable future for Bangladesh,” he added.
HSBC Group Chief Executive Georges Elhedery was named Global Banker of the Year. Across Asia, HSBC also won several of Euromoney’s most competitive categories, including Best Bank in Asia.
The awards recognise the operational excellence HSBC has delivered under its simplified and more agile organisational structure.
In Bangladesh, the bank has remained close to its customers, taken ownership, and delivered with speed.
Among its achievements during the year, HSBC received awards at the local, regional, and global levels.
The Euromoney Awards for Excellence are widely regarded as the banking industry’s benchmark, recognising institutions that demonstrate exceptional leadership in delivering comprehensive, high-quality services to their clients.
