NRB Bank gets new chairman of risk management committee

NRB Bank PLC has recently elected Shaikh Md Salim, former executive director of Bangladesh Bank, as the chairman of its Risk Management Committee.

The appointment was confirmed during a meeting of the bank's board of directors, according to a press release.

Salim commenced his professional banking career in 1993 as an assistant director at Bangladesh Bank, eventually rising to the position of executive director.

With over three decades of experience at the central bank, he has cultivated expertise in financial analysis, project management, data-driven decision-making, credit appraisal, and the evaluation of banks and non-bank financial institutions.

He earned his bachelor's degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the Khulna University of Engineering & Technology in 1987, and completed an MBA in financial management from the University of Hull, the United Kingdom in 2003.
