Sultana's death in Rab custody: DSA misused in her case, says law minister
Law Minister Anisul Huq today said the Digital Security Act (DSA) was misused in the case of detaining Sultana Jasmine of Naogaon, who died in Rab custody on March 24.
"I can clearly say that there was no case under Digital Security Act when the woman was picked up," he said.
"The Digital Security Act has been misused in this case," he said replying to a query by journalists at the Secretariat.
"The act is being misused in one or two cases and we are taking action," the minister said.
Sultana, 41, an office assistant at Chandipur union land office in Naogaon Sadar, was detained on her way to the office by a patrol team of Rab-5 on March 22.
She died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in Rab custody two days later.
