Microbus capsize in Padma: Driver’s body recovered after 2 days

Body of a driver was recovered two days after he went missing when a microbus fell into the Padma river from the pontoon at Daulatdia ferry ghat in Rajbari.

The body of Maruf Hossain (40) -- hailing from Sylhet -- was recovered around 8:00am today, said Assistant Director of Rajbari fire station Anwara Hossain.

Maruf Hossain was living in Dhaka's Mirpur area, our Manikganj correspondent reports quoting police.

Locals saw the body floating near at Daulatdia ferry ghat no-7 and informed police, said in-charge of Daulatdia Naval Police outpost.    

The microbus, which was roped to the pontoon, fell into the river around 11:00am on May 11 after the rope tore off due to stormy weather.

Later, rescue vessel Hamza salvaged the vehicle after three and half hours of frantic effort
