Abu Taw Haa taken to DB office in Rangpur
Islamic preacher Abu Taw Haa Muhammad Adnan has been taken to the office of Detective Branch of Police in Rangpur after he was found earlier in the day.
He was under custody of Kotwali police of Rangpur Metropolitan Police since he was found at his father-in-law Azaharul Islam Mondal's house at Masterpara around 3:15pm, our Dinajpur correspondent reports.
Abdur Rashid, Officer in Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the news to The Daily Star.
OC Rashid said, "Taw Haa was taken to DB office around 4:30pm to know details about his disappearance"
When police came to know about his return around 1:30pm, a team went to the residence of his father-in-law and took him into custody, police said.
Earlier in the day, the OC said that detail information will be given holding a press conference.
Meanwhile, Rajib Basunia, inspector (investigation) of Kotwali Police Station, said, "We are questioning him regarding his disappearance."
According to police, locals saw Taw Haa entering his father-in-law's residence around 12:30pm.
Earlier, Md Hanif, brother of Abu Taw Haa's wife, said that the preacher was found and was going to his house in Rangpur.
"I came to know this while talking over phone with Jakaria, my younger brother," Hanif said.
However, Hanif could not tell anything about how Abu Taw Haa was found.
