2 including child killed in separate road accidents in Cox’s Bazar, 3 injured
Two people including a three-year-old child were killed in two separate road accidents in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar district today. Three others were also injured, reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent quoting police.
Quoting locals, Officer-in-Charge of Ukhia Police Station, Ahmed Sanjur Morshed said, three-year-old Nahidul Islam was hit by a bus on the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Highway near Ukhia Degree College this afternoon. Locals rescued the child and took him to Upazila Health Complex where he was declared dead by the on-duty doctor.
Meanwhile, Ukhia upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Ranjan Barua Rajan, said one was killed and three were injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a microbus at Kot Bazar area in Ukhia. The deceased was identified as Md Tareq (26).
The injured were sent to Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital, he said.
At present, two bodies are in Ukhia Upazila Health Complex, said the OC, adding that the bodies will be handed over to the families at the end of legal process.
