‘Sharodio’ concludes at Barishal
The first autumnal art exhibition titled Sharodio, organised by Charukola, Barishal and Mritshilpi Sammelon O Sammanana, concluded recently at Ashwini Kumar Hall in Barishal. The exhibition displayed artworks by local aspiring artists.
Riva Ganguly Das, High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, inaugurated the art exhibition and Barishal City Corporation Mayor Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah was presented as the chief guest. Four eminent artists, Rafiqun Nabi, Nisar Hossan, Sheikh Afzal and Hamiduzzaman Khan also attended the event as special guests.
Moniruzzaman Monir, convener of exhibition said, “The artworks at the exhibition possessed distinctively local characteristics in terms of forms, subjects and aesthetics.”
Thirty-eight artworks by thirty-three artists were showcased at the exhibition. The art-mediums were-- watercolor, oil, mixed media and acrylic on canvas. Sculptures, prints, crafts, ceramics, installations, videos and performing arts were also on display.
