Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt has tested positive for Covid-19. She is currently self-isolating at home.
"I have tested positive for COVID-19. I have immediately isolated myself and will be under home quarantine," she wrote in a note posted on Instagram.
On March 11, Bhatt tested negative for Covid-19 and resumed work. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the director of her film, "Gangubai Kathiawadi" also tested positive recently.
Mumbai reported 8,646 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, its highest one-day rise since the outbreak of the pandemic last year. The city's overall caseload tally stands at 4,23,360.
On the other hand, megastar Amitabh Bachchan announced that he has received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
Taking to his official blog today, the megastar said every member of his family, except son Abhishek Bachchan, who is busy shooting outside Mumbai, has received the first dose of the vaccine.
