Another Nazrul saga begins
It requires proper knowledge of Indian classical music to render the raga-based classics accurately, composed by Kazi Nazrul Islam. Nazrul singers Anindita Choudhury and Bizon Chandra Mistry recorded several raga-based songs along with a few kabyageeti and ghazal in their latest albums, produced by Bengal Foundation. The duo teaches Nazrul Sangeet at Chhayanaut Sangeet Bidyayatan.
Anindita Choudhury's Nayoner Neer-e and Bizon Chandra Mistry's Bon-e Bon-e Laglo Dol are great albums for Nazrul Sangeet aficionados. Renowned Nazrul singers -- Sadya Afreen Mallick and Khairul Anam Shakil have recently unveiled the album duo at Bengal Boi premises. Following the launching ceremony, Anindita and Bizon mesmerized the crowd with their numbers.
Anindita Choudhury recorded eight songs including Jonom Jonom Gelo, Mor Ghum Ghor-e Ele Monohor and more while Bizon Chandra Mistry lent his voice to ten tracks with Amar Aponar Cheye, Kuhu Kuhu Koyelia and more.
Eminent Nazrul singer Shaheen Samad wrote on the album cover, “Anindita Choudhury is one of the very few Nazrul singers among the new generation who established herself with her dedication and perseverance. Her style of rendition is outstanding and effortless. She is adept in creating a melodic aura while performing and it is ardently appreciated by the audience.”
Khairul Anam Shakil added, “If I am to mention promising names of present generation singers, I must assert Bizon Chandra Mistry. He is singularly dedicated to the practice and perseverance of classical music so his rendition of Nazrul Sangeet is mature. I am elated that Bengal Foundation has produced his album, which I think, will be well-received by the music lovers.”
