SIAM AHMED gears up for another blockbuster with 'Dohon'
Siam Ahmed has come a long way since his first steps in the showbiz industry, from a good-looking youngster with a 'chocolate boy' image to a complete package of talent and skill. His pairing with Puja Cherry is also near the peak of its popularity, as the actor looks forward to yet another hit under the banner of Jaaz Multimedia. The dashing actor talks to The Daily Star about his film 'Dohon', as it releases in 80 cinema halls today.
What are your expectations from 'Dohon'?
Honestly, there will always be expectations from a new film. However, I am hopeful about Dohon because it has been a matter of much speculation and debate.
Why should people go and watch the film in theatres, in your opinion?
The audience in our country is always in search of a good story, and Dohon is exactly that. Every single member of the crew have given it their 100 percent in the film, and that is why I think that people will definitely go and watch Dohon in theatres.
The film is releasing near the end of 2018. How do you feel about that?
This is my only cinema this year. I have given it my full concentration, and even worked in the creative aspects of the film. I gave my input in the direction, and even worked on the script. Overall, this is not just a film for me, but a dream project. I feel amazing regarding its release.
How challenging was playing the lead character for you?
The character that I'm playing is named Tula, a slum-dweller. He is addicted to drugs, and does whatever he can to earn money. It was very challenging to fit into this role, as I wanted to make it relatable.
What are you doing for the promotion of the film?
We have a lot of plans. We will personally go to all the cinema halls in Dhaka to greet the fans, and to understand their reactions on the film. We want everyone to watch Dohon.
