Press conference on National Film Day at FDC

In 2012, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced 3rd April as the National Film Day. Every year since then, this day is celebrated festively. The Ministry of Information, in association with Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) and National Film Day Celebration Committee, will celebrate National Film Day tomorrow.

A press conference was held yesterday at BFDC. Convener of National Film Day Celebration Committee, Syed Hasan Imam, spoke at the conference. Actor and Co-Chairman of National Film Day Celebration Committee, Alamgir, President of Bangladesh Film Directors' Association, Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, actor and General Secretary of Bangladesh Film Artists' Association, Zayed Khan and actor Anjana also spoke at the event.

Also present at the conference were General Secretary of Bangladesh Film Directors' Association, Badiul Alam Khokon, and Acting Managing Director of FDC, Laxman Chandra Debnath.

Starting from tomorrow at 11 am, a two-day long festival, featuring a procession, film screening, discussion session and a cultural programme, will be held at FDC. Minister of Information, Muhammad Hasan Mahmud, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Information, Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, Akbar Hossain Farooque, and Information Secretary, Abdul Malek are scheduled to attend the inauguration tomorrow.

A seminar with Minister of Industries, Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, as the chief guest and State Minister for Cultural Affairs, KM Khalid, actor and member of the Parliament, Suborna Mustafa, as special guests will also take place. Renowned media personalities and members of Bangladesh Film Directors' Association, Bangladesh Film Artists' Association and Bangladesh Producers' Association will also be present at the seminar.

This year, Acting Managing Director of FDC, Laxman Chandra Debnath is the Member Secretary of National Film Day Celebration Committee.
