First trailer of THE LION KING remake unveiled
Disney released the first trailer of the CGI and live-action remake of the 1994 animated film, The Lion King, as a part of the Thanksgiving football festivities. The first moments of the trailer replicate the opening sequence of the animated film, with Mufasa voiced by James Earl Jones yet again. In addition to Jones, the star-studded cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodard as Simba's mother Sarabi, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kani as Rafiki, Florence Kasumba as Shenzi, Eric André as Azizi, and Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa. JD McCrary and Shahadi Wright Joseph will play young Simba and young Nala, respectively. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film is set to hit theatres on July 19, 2019.
