Superstar Shakib Khan has been the number one actor for quite some time now, and it looks as though there is no slowing him down. The National Film Award winning actor has recently returned from a filming stint abroad, only to hit the sets again. In a recent interview with The Daily Star, Shakib Khan reveals more about what's keeping him busy.
You've been away for quite some time. How did filming go?
SK: It went quite well. We were filming for Bhaijan Elo Re in London, and shot parts of the movie in India before that. West Bengal actress Srabonti is working with me as the female lead. The rains in London gave us some trouble, but other than that it went without a hitch. I have high hopes regarding the film, and I am sure it will appeal to the audience. It will be ready for release on Eid.
What film have you been working on since your return?
SK: We have been filming the final lot for the film Superhero. It won't be much of a surprise, because of the title! I will be appearing as a super hero in the film.
What made your enduring stardom possible?
SK: It really is the grace of God that I am still here, and the kindness of my fans to be so loyal. I could never imagine that so many people would possess such love and admiration for me. The most important thing is, you should be passionate about your job, and not be afraid to work harder.
Chalbaaz has proved to become a success- what are your thoughts on the film?
SK: I believe that people will watch a film if it is well made, and “Chalbaaz” was able to deliver.
You are also a producer- could you elaborate more on this venture?
SK: My first production project was Hero: The Superstar and back then it was made with the largest budget in our local industry. Now we are working on Priyotoma, which will star Bubly. We hope to begin filming in October.
What do you think will attract viewers to Priyotoma?
SK: Of course there will be interesting surprises in store, after all, I am the producer! But you shall have to wait and see.
What are your hopes for cinema?
SK: I want to help the industry reach new heights. I would like for our films to reach worldwide status and be appreciated across the globe.
