“Chhuye Dile Mon” set for India release
Arifin Shuvo and Momo-starrer 2015 film “Chhuye Dile Mon” has received censorship certificate for commercial release in India, making it the first Bangladeshi film to do so. The film, directed by Shihab Shaheen and directed by Asiatic Dhwoni-Chitra and Monforing, was one of the best-received commercial films of this year. The film is expected to land in theatres in India in February.
“Bangladeshi films are only screened in film festivals in India where critics and experts can praise them, but do not reach the general audience,” says Shihab Shaheen. “Through the release of 'Chhuye Dile Mon' in a market as massive as India, it opens doors for Bangladeshi films to reach that big audience.”
Piali films and Girona Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. have taken the distribution responsibilities for India for “Chhuye Dile Mon”, which also stars Iresh Zaker, Misha Sawdagar and Aliraj. The film was released in Bangladesh in April, and saw commercial success. Its music, directed by Habib Wahid and Sajid Sarkar, was also appreciated highly.
