Golam Mohammed Joarder's solo painting exhibition titled Ruposhi Bangla (The Beauteous Bengal) concluded yesterday at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka. Eminent artist Professor Samarjit Roy Choudhury inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest on July 6.
The nuance of nature gets a prominent place in his paintings. Two elements, human beings and their circumstances, have been rendered as imaginable as well as abstract in most of his compositions. Joarder rather prefers abstractionism, as he thinks the concrete form is two-dimensional. The abstractionism, however, is open-ended, interpretable to the observer. The artist keeps the observer to be in his mind. The striking things on his canvas are vibrant colours and fine textures.
Golam Mohammed Joarder completed his BFA from the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka. He has two novels to his credit, and finds nature as his muse for his paintings.
