A Philosopher's Portrait

A weeklong solo photography exhibition titled “A Philosopher's Portrait”, featuring portraits and other images of eminent philosopher and political scientist Sardar Fazlul Karim, concluded yesterday at Zainul Gallery, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka.
Talented portrait photographer Iftekhar Wahid Iftee had captured the different moods of the pioneering philosopher during 2002-2005.
Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique, Vice Chancellor of University of Dhaka inaugurated the exhibition. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon attended the ceremony as chief guest while eminent educationist Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman and noted economist Professor M.M. Akash were special guests.
Iftee, an acolyte of noted photographer Imtiaz Alam Beg, has a photographic career spanning over two decades. This is Iftee's sixth solo exhibition. In his previous exhibits, the photographer showcased both creative and portrait photographs including those of renowned media personality Shykh Seraj under the title “Son of the Soil” as well as on internationally famous Bangladeshi painter Shahabuddin Ahmed under the title “Shahabuddin The Painter, The Fighter”.
