All about BEING THE OTHER
Fabienne Francotte's exhibition, Being the Other is on display at EDGE Galleries, Gulshan 2. This series maps junctures of shared trauma, communicated through wordless intimacies, that the artist was inspired by while working with the Rohingya community of refugees in Bangladesh.
Arranged in three parts, the show speaks about the many ways in which latent trauma is carried precariously between the need to cope, to acknowledge and to persevere. The exhibition, that will be launched today along with "The five day drawing project", will be open from March 23- 30, looks to put you in the shoes of a community that has suffered abuse beyond any other, so far as to make you feel like 'Being the Other'. The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Bangladesh.
