600 opposition activists join BNP in Jessore
About 600 leaders and workers of various political parties, including a group of 350 freedom fighters, led by former MP and Awami League leader Gazi Abdul Hai joined BNP at a simple ceremony here yesterday.
Environment and Forest Minister Tariqul Islam attended the function as the chief guest while Jute and Textiles Minister Shajahan Siraj and organising secretary of BNP's central committee Mofiqul Hasan Tripti were present as special guests.
"Another liberation war is needed to defeat the forces, which are hatching conspiracy against independence, sovereignty and democracy," Tariqul told the new comers.
