Parliament passes the Companies (Amendment) Bill 2020
The Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2020 was passed in Parliament today, withdrawing a provision which made it mandatory for a company to have a seal to get registered.
Bangladesh would jump 7-8 notches in the ease of doing business index if the provision can be withdrawn by March 31, the bill said.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi moved the bill, which was passed by voice vote.
The proposed law was approved after amending some sections of the existing Company Act, 1994 to exclude the provision of a company needing a seal to get registration.
