JAAGO Foundation and Volunteer for Bangladesh’s campaign asks, ‘Apnar Mask Kothay?’
JAAGO Foundation and Volunteer for Bangladesh have been conducting several campaigns under the purview of social responsibility. In line with such activities, Volunteer for Bangladesh arranged a campaign called, 'Apnar Mask Kothay? (Where is Your Mask?)', supported by Beximco Pharmaceuticals on November 12, to raise awareness among people about wearing masks properly.
Volunteers participated in this campaign from their respective districts, and they raised mass awareness by taking to the streets. 6000 volunteers participated from Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Mymensingh. The volunteers discussed the ongoing coronavirus situation and made people aware of the importance of using masks to reduce the spread of Covid-19. The young volunteers worked on some handmade posters and placards, containing slogans and awareness messages.
With this, they grabbed the attention of people who curiously approached them to ask about the initiative. The people praised their activities and encouraged them to continue with these campaigns.
Cricketer Taskin Ahmed inaugurated this campaign at Gulshan 2. He remarked that this campaign has come at a very crucial time at this moment of the pandemic. He visited some of the places where the campaign took place and encouraged the volunteers. In Dhaka, the campaign took place in Dhanmondi, Banani 11, Mirpur 10 Circle, Agargaon- IDB Bhaban, Motijheel- Brothers Union Club Playground, and Gulshan - 2 Circle.
"While people do use hand sanitisers, they are reluctant to wear masks for lack of habit and being unaware of its importance. JAAGO Foundation and Volunteer for Bangladesh are running several awareness programmes since the beginning of the pandemic," shares Korvi Rakshand, Founder and Executive Director, JAAGO Foundation. "We distributed food bags among thousands of underprivileged families. And now, through this mask campaign, we tried to encourage people all around the country to wear masks properly."
Volunteer for Bangladesh and JAAGO Foundation are working to attain the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 (SDGs).
