Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be a special guest as India take on Bangladesh in the historic pink-ball Test match that begins in Kolkata tomorrow.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that the premier will be at landmark Eden Gardens in Kolkata to witness the historic day-night Test between the two teams.
Hasina will reach Kolkata around 10:30 hours (local time) tomorrow and will head straight to Taj Bengal Hotel in Alipore while another group of her delegation will go to the Eden Garden stadium, our New Delhi correspondent reports quoting diplomatic sources.
In the afternoon, Hasina will go to the stadium ring the Bell to signal the start of the Test match. After watching the match for some time, she will return to the hotel before going back to the Eden Garden again to watch the play for some more time and attend a grand celebratory function to mark the Test, they said.
Hasina would return to Dhaka around 9:00pm tomorrow, according to the sources.
Legendary singer Runa Laila will perform at the function where players of Bangladesh and India who had featured in the first-ever Test in Kolkata 19 years ago would be felicitated.
