Bangladesh's bowling department has been significantly boosted for their tour of New Zealand. Talented left arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman has been included in the 15-strong squad, who start the limited-overs leg of their tour with the first ODI at Christchurch on Boxing Day, reports nzherald.co.nz

Fizz last played international cricket at the world T20 in India in March. A shoulder injury in July sidelined him for all cricket since. He underwent surgery in August.

He has posted impressive early-career figures. In nine ODIs, the 21-year-old Fizz has taken 26 wickets at 12.34, including 11 in his first two matches against India last year. In 13 T20s, he's got 22 wickets at 13.95.

Mustafizur has also had stints with English county Sussex and Indian Premier League outfit Sunrisers Hyderabad.

There are maiden callups for offspinner Mehedi Hasan, who destroyed England in their last Test at Dhaka and has 19 wickets in his first two Tests, legspinning allrounder Tanveer Haider; and seamer Subashis Roy.

Bangladesh play a New Zealand XI in Whangarei in a one-dayer tomorrow as their sole warmup fixture. They have come from a leadup camp in Sydney.

The other members of Bangladesh's Sydney training group will travel to New Zealand, to give the option of a large group of players for the three ODIs and T20s before the two Tests next month.
