Comilla Victorians usurped Rajshahi Kings by five wickets thanks to Shahid Afridi and Anamul Haque in the 10th match of the Bangladesh Premier League today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Mehedi Miraz’s Rajshahi were in early trouble losing Mominul Haque and Soumya Sarkar before Afridi struck with back-to-back deliveries to remove Mehedi (30 off 17) and Mohammad Hafeez (16 off 17) and cause an immense collapse to see Rajshahi stumble to 63 for 7. Isuru Udana’s 30-ball 32 took them to 124 all-out in 18.5 overs.
In reply, Comilla were off to a flier with openers Anamul Haque (40) and Evin Lewis (28) combining in a 65-run partnership. Even after they lost a few wickets, Comilla never really looked like they were in trouble and Afridi hit the winning runs with a six as they won with 1.2 overs to spare.
