PCB to host 2020 Asia Cup
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has granted Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) the rights to hold the 2020 Asia Cup although it is yet to be decided where the tournament will take place.
The next Asia Cup – a T20 affair, is scheduled for September 2020 just a month before the World T20. "The 2020 Asia Cup will take place in Pakistan. They will tell us where we'll be holding it, since they are the hosts. India hosted it last time, but it was held in the UAE," ACC president Nazmul Hassan said during an ACC meeting yesterday at Dhaka which was attended by PCB president Ehsan Mani and BCCI CEO Rahul Johri.
The ongoing Emerging Asia Cup is being jointly co-hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Given the current security concerns when it comes to hosting international tournaments however in Pakistan, the tournament could be played in UAE.
