Jahurul, Mithun both miss out on tons against SL A
Opener Jahurul Islam and middle-order batsman Mohammad Mithun's scores of 90 and 92 saw Bangladesh A post 270 for six in day one the three-day-match at Hambantota today.
The match was originally scheduled to begin as a four-day fixture yesterday but after rain washed out day one, the match was reduced to a three-day affair. Jahurul and national team opener Shadman Islam gave Bangladesh a solid start with a 90-run opening stand before latter fell after a 112-ball 53.
Nazmul Hossain Shanto and captain Mominul Haque fell to cheap scores before Jahurul and Mithun combined in a 137-run stand for the fourth wicket. However, both missed out on tons as Mithun fell after a 120-ball 92 and Jahurul, who played a patient knock of 90 from 212 balls, laced with eight fours was out leg-before before stumps. Soumya Sarkar and Mehedi Hasan Miraz were unbeaten at the crease at close.
