Crowd demanding BPL tickets storm stadium gate
The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) final between Comilla Victorians and Dhaka Dynamites is set to take place at 7:00 pm local time today but ahead of the exciting clash, fans were unable to get their hands on tickets for the match and it led to commotion and police action.
There were no tickets available at Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB's) designated booths and the expecting crowd vented their anger by storming gate no. 2 of the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium this morning. The incident occured four to five hours before the start of the game as people were seen getting into the stadium and demanding BPL final's tickets. The tickets for the eliminator, qualifiers and the final, went on sale from February 3.
After a portion of the crowd broke into the stadium and a combined effort from security forces, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Police saw the situation brought under control.
