BD A lose first one-day
Bangladesh A succumbed to a seven-wicket defeat in the first one-day match against Sri Lanka A at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo today.
Bangladesh were bundled out for just 116 in 33.3 overs after electing to bat first. Off-spinner Nayeem Hasan, sent in to open the innings, fell in the third over before Saif Hassan and Nazmul Hossain Shanto steadied the ship with a 44-run partnership for the second wicket. Nazmul fell after a 23-ball 24 but a batting collapse saw Bangladesh A lose their remaining eight wickets for 57 runs. Saif was the top-scorer with 32 while right-arm off-break bowler Ashan Priyanjan bagged four wickets for Sri Lanka A.
Abu Jayed and Abu Hider struck early for Bangladesh A but an unbeaten fifty from Priyanjan, supported ably by Priyamal Perera's 24 not out, saw the hosts coast to an easy win with seven wickets in hand.
