Abahani defeat Mohammedan to stay top

Abahani Limited returned to winning ways with a six-wicket victory over arch rivals Mohammedan Sporting Club during their Dhaka Premier League (DPL) matchup at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium today.

Mohammedan started solidly after Abahani captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza sent them in to bat. Liton Das (27 off 38) and Abdul Mazid (26 off 67) started slowly but steadily before Nazmul Islam got Abahani the breakthrough bagging Liton's wicket. Irfan Sukkur and captain Raqibul Hasan both hit half-centuries but Nazmul and all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin brought them back in to the game, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 29 and 3 for 31 respectively as Mohammedan were restricted to 248/7 in 50 overs.
