35 Rohingyas held while attempting to go to Malaysia illegally

Police today detained 35 Rohingyas, including 23 women and six children, in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar while they were preparing to illegally go to Malaysia.

Officer-in-Charge of Ukhiya Police Station Morjina Aktar said after receiving a tip-off, they conducted a drive in Rejukhal area in the afternoon and detained the Rohingyas.

The detainees will be sent back to their respective camps after identification, he said.
