Quader doing fine after bypass surgery
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader is doing well at the Singapore hospital where he underwent a successful bypass surgery last Wednesday, doctors said.
“The endotracheal tube attached to ailing Quader has been removed and the dosage of sedatives is being lessened gradually,” Prof Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi, the doctor accompanying Quader in Singapore, said quoting the medical board.
Dr Rizvi said he personally talked to Quader, who is also the general secretary of Awami League, after the tube was removed.
Notably, Quader underwent a bypass surgery at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital by a team of surgeons led by Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr Sebastian Kumar Swami on Wednesday.
Quader was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on March 3 following breathing complications. Later, tests revealed three blockages in his coronary artery.
He was flown to Singapore the next day for treatment at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
